Haywood Regional Medical Center offers a 30-minute, non-invasive vascular screening using ultrasound technology. This low-cost procedure does not require a physician referral. 

With over 14 years of combined experience, our ultrasound technologists are equipped with the vascular knowledge needed to perform exceptional studies.  Our vascular technologists are registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and are passionate about their work and providing services that benefit the community. And, should you need additional care after your screening, if you need a provider for follow-up, we can help connect you with local care.

Should you be screened?

Anyone over age 55 or over 40 with multiple risk factors should consider screening.

Risk factors include: 

• Family history of heart disease or stroke
• History of smoking
• High blood pressure
• Overweight
• High stress levels
• Inactive lifestyle
• High cholesterol
• Diabetes

Tests include:

• Carotid Ultrasound
• Venous Reflux Screening
• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Scan
• Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
• Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)
